Small order and other topics

I wonder how fast time goes by! I read many blogs, left some comments but did not more. On April, 6th my little one had his 4th birthday! It was a Good Friday. Family came, we had variety of fish dish , cakes and Mike was very excited about everything. He had a lot of fun - as we all had, a lot of gifts, great weather. It was very nice. Unfortunately the pics I made are corrupted!!! Ughh - I took so cute pics on birthday morning!! We sang for him, he got a nice decoration, a first present and he was so sweet with his crown. Two years ago I sewed a crown for my bithday kids. Mike wanted to wear the crown the whole day long, he played, ran, and it was hot outside - his forehead sweated because of the fibre (don't know exactly what kind of fibre - but it's very gold and that is important to my boys), but no chance to put it off his head!!! So - no pics from that birthday.... :-( But we will keep it in our minds. A week after we had a party with 5 kids from his kindergarten - very jolly. A few games, a treasure hunt in his sandcastle, a small handicraft, cakes and hot sausages with French fries, a tiny gift for each of them and the kids were happy! Me too.....

There were also some (negative) private things that whirled us, but that's life.

But now something quilty. Yesterday I made a choir book binding - an order as a present for a communion. The girl has chosen blue colors.
Below you can see two bindings I made last year for my nice and nephew.
The bindings are approx. 11 x 16 cm.
I made some progress on my flower application, sewed on the squares, basted it, so that it's now to be quilted. Mind work - how to quilt it now ? A picture is coming soon.
I also helped my SIL to make her curtains. The project is not completely finished. She needs more...

Good news: I received my siggies from Cynthia, too. They are so nice and so different and so inspiring and ...and........ Thank you to all participants! I visited yet some blogs, but not all!

I got a surprise-letter from Bea ( a D13 siggy-block and some fabrics for my hexagon-quilt) - thank you Bea!!!
I also received a nice siggy-block from Connie - thank you so much - mine is on the way to you !
The postman - he is never ever going to be out of work as long as he delivers my letters and packages - brought me some very necessary envelopes full of fabrics, magazines, and so sweet patterns (show you pics the next time). I think, I am a happy quilter :o)) I also will never be out of work, as long as the postman brings me envelopes and packages....

So, that's it for now. I am too lazy to write this post twice, so I wrote "just" in english.

Ich wünsche all meinen Blog-Besucherinnen frohe Ostern, eine schöne Zeit im Kreise eurer Familien, so wundervolles Wetter wie bei uns - und einige entspannte (Urlaubs-)tage.

Just wanted to wish you all a happy Easter , a nice time with your families, wonderful weather - what we really have here - and a few relaxed (holi-)days.



Ich habe ein wenig genäht - ein Geschenk für meine Freundin- einen Tassenuntersetzer. Sie hat nach ihrem Erziehungsurlaub wieder mit dem Arbeiten begonnen und erwähnte, dass sie noch eine Bürotasse besorgen müßte. Ich nahm das als kleinen Wink auf und dachte, es wäre ein nettes Geschenk für ihren Start ins Berufsleben.

Der Ninepatch eignet sich ganz gut - darauf habe ich ein Blümchen appliziert. Der Untersetzer hat ca. 16 cm. Farblich paßt beides sehr gut - obwohl das auf den Fotos leider nicht so deutlich wird.

I did some sewing - a gift for my friend. I made a mug mat. She started to work after her "parental leave" and mentioned that she needs a new mug for the office. I noticed this and thought it would be a nice present for the "new start in working-life".

I thought a nine-patch would be nice - with a flower-applique on it. The mat is about 6.5 ". The colors of both match really great. Unfortunately the pictures don't show it.

Wenn der Postmann einmal klingelt.... When the postman rings...

... dann bringt er mir solche Köstlichkeiten.... ...he brings me such deliciousness...
Tee zur Enstpannung, Anregung, zum Durtslöschen, Nippen während des Nähens, Wärmen, Träumen, Genießen und auch mal zum Verschenken. Meine Teevorräte sind zur Neige gegangen und da habe ich ein "kleine Großbestellung" aufgegeben. Ein paar Kräuterchen zum Kochen waren auch gleich dabei. Lieferung erfolgte promt am nächsten Tag - was will man mehr??

Tea for relaxation, stimulation, thirst, sipping while sewing, warming up, dreaming, enjoying and also for giving away. My tea run out of supplies and so I made a "little bulk oder". I ordered some herbs for cooking, too. The package arrived the next day - just perfect.

... hier sind die Nickels aus einem Swap an dem ich teilgenommen habe.

And... here are the nickels from the swap I participated....Es sind 80 Stoffquadrate zu 5 " in poppig, bunt, grell und ebenfalls 80 mal 5" Quadrate an gedeckten Farben. Nun muß ich mir überlegen, wie ich diese Schätzchen am besten zur Geltung bringe. Ist das nicht h e r r l i c h ? Ich liebe es.

I got 80 5 " squares in shrill, mod colours and also 80 *5" squares in dim colores. now I have to think about how to enforce these treasures. Isn't it w o n d e r f u l ? I love it.


Heute habe ich mir fest vorgenommen, mein Nähzimmer auf Vordermann zu bringen. Da ich in diesem Zimmer auch bügle (bergeweise Wäsche) und es ebenfalls als Zwischenlager für "Diverses" verwende - auch als "Kruscht-Sammel-Räumchen" wenn kurz mal Besuch kommt, braucht es dringend eine "Ausmistung"....

Today I will clean up my sewing room. It's the room where i do the laundry, use it as a store temporarily for sundries and the whole stuff I need to put shortly aside when a visit "appears". The room needs to be tidyed out...


Bei uns haben heute die Osterferien begonnen. Mein Großer wollte prompt seinen kleinen Bruder zu Besuch in den Kindergarten begleiten (die haben keine Ferien) - was auch vom Kindi erlaubt wurde - so habe ich geschwind noch sturmfreie Bude.

Today the Easter-holiday started. My first son wanted to "visit" his little brother in kindergarten (they don't close for holidays), so I have short time to make all the necessary things.
